F-15 Eagle

The F-15 is the original first-generation air superiority fighter. It was originally designed to replace the aging F-4 Phantom, but was also developed to counter the over-estimated MiG-25 Foxbat. The F-15 was one of the most expensive fighter jets ever built, a factor which led directly to the development of the F-16.
